This scholarship was created in honor of Heidi Leming, former director of Student Life and Leadership. Heidi was instrumental in applying for a diversity access grant and secured $13,000 to start a peer mentor program for Hispanic Students on campus as well as several other programs to bring greater awareness to Hispanic issues.
This scholarship is awarded to any undergraduate (sophomore to senior) student at 365bet who has a 2.5 cumulative GPA and has actively participated in Latino Community Resource Center Program Events (attended at least five programs).

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: Must be of Hispanic Heritage. Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for High School Students.
Minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale for college and graduate students. Plan to enroll
full-time during the fall semester. Must be a U.S. Citizen, permanentl legal resident,
DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA). Complete the FAFSA application.

Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship
Amount: $9,000
Eligibility: Currently a full-time or part-time upper-division undergraduate or graduate student
in public administration, governmental accounting, finance, political science, economics
or business administration. Belong to one of the following groups: Black or African
American, American Indian or Alaskan Native, Asian, Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander,
Hispanic or Latino. Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or
Canada.
Process: Go to Government Finance Officers Association web site and click on the Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship link. Follow the instructions
on the application.

In 1993, the GFOA's executive board voted to create the Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship to recognize and encourage outstanding minority students enrolled in a course of study preparing for a career in state or local government finance. The Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship competition is for minority students of public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management) at the upper-division undergraduate or graduate level. One scholarship of $9,000 is available for award in 2017. The Minorities Scholarship is funded by Tyler Technologies.
